North of Flagstaff

Overview: This rocky trail roller coasters over the washes on the lower slopes of the Dry Lake Hills, overlooking Flagstaff, and leads through ponderosa pines, Gambel oaks and alligator junipers. A favorite trail of Flagstaff residents.
Trailhead (TH): Just north of Flagstaff off US 180. Many great trails in the area. See Map
Length: 2.2 miles.
Rating: Easy. Under 2 hours round-trip.
Highlights: Although close to town, wildlife abounds, and the views of Oak Creek and Sycamore canyons are pretty, too.
Season: Year-round, best April to Oct.
Elevation: 7,100 to 7,200.
