Functional Fitness Training

Being functionally fit means being able to perform daily tasks with ease. Getting out of a bed or chair, dressing, bathing, cooking and many other daily tasks are all things one can do when he or she is functionally fit. Functional fitness is determined by the body's core strength, which is what helps you keep your balance and stand up straight. As an older adult, functional fitness is the key to your quality of life. Developing your core strength is a great way to achieve a better fitness level and improve your functional fitness.

Functional Fitness Training

Core exercises focus primarily on abdominal, lower back and spinal erector strength. The movements are typically compound and involve the whole body. Core strength exercises can be done in one exercise session per day or in three 10-15 minute increments throughout the day.
