Brittany Thorsch Biography:
Brittany grew up in
Saratoga, CA where she attended school, dance and was an aspiring
gymnast. At the age of eight, along with her family she relocated to the
beautiful Queensland Australia where she pursued her gymnastics career
as a member of the Australian Olympic Developmental Squad. As a straight
A student in school Brittany hit a brick wall after training for 25hrs a
week at the young age of 10. She rarely saw her family and never played
with friends, as in her spare time she had her schoolwork to complete.
Injuries took a toll on her body and one day with the love and support
of her family a life altering decision was made to say goodbye to
gymnastics.
Brittany felt like a whole new world opened up. From that point forward
she participated in every school sport on at least the State Level in
track, equestrian, netball, touch football and cross country and was
loving it. She also competed at the national level in marching and at
the internationals in Sport Aerobics placing in both.
Due to her gymnastics injuries she had to attend frequent physical
therapy to heal her injuries. Lifting weights and rebuilding her body
brought about a new love. Brittany developed a genuine love for the
human body and on her own read, learned and studied all aspects of human
development. Her new passion taught her to control her eating again and
bring her body back to life.
In 2000 she moved back to America and is currently living San Diego,
California. Her competitive fire was still in her and she was once again
in search for a sport to pursue professionally. At the age of 16 she
couldn't decide on what she could be successful in until she saw a
fitness event on television. With her background she decided this was a
perfect fit. At this time Brittany was thrown a difficult twist in her
life she was involved in a near death car accident. She was trapped in
the back of an open aired truck which rolled 450ft down into a canyon
for 7 ½ hours. Suffering from a 1 ½ inch lesion across her forehead,
severe spinal compression and numerous sprains and bruises both internal
and external. After recovering from this incident, approximately 8
months later she was involved in another car accident where she totaled
the car in a head on collision with a brick wall. From this day on she
had a much more passionate view about life and helping others achieve
their dreams.
She then sought out a trainer to help her prepare for a show and began
working with Kim Oddo of Temecula California. 2002 was a great show year
and she fell in love with the sport. She then went on to win the 2003 LA
fitness overall and figure short class event. Brittany also went on the
next week and placed 7th at the USA's in the short class. In 2004 she
competed in the Fitness USA Championships and placed 2nd, walking away
with her pro card all at the age of 19.
Brittany wants to
create a powerful positive image within their training business which is
available to anyone for support and guidance in any aspect of their well
being .Brittany is now an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer and Specialist
in Performance Nutrition and Supplementation. She owns her own personal
training company called Fit Images where she specializes in competition

What makes a great fitness model?
Someone who is confident, naturally sexy, down to earth, and truly loves
fitness.
What are the secrets to become a fitness model?
Stay
in shape all of the time, act and dress as a professional at all
times and network at all of the fitness shows and tradeshows.
What did you do to become a model?
Honestly it kind of goes hand in hand with competing, photographers
approached me at the shows and I made good contacts that I followed up
on and stuck to my word when booking shoots. You must always show up on
time and when you set a date to shoot and be sure to complete the
project when scheduled.
What is your favorite things about being a fitness model?
I like
to make the photo shoots fun by coming up with different outfits and
creative ideas to keep things interesting. Having a make-up artist for
the shoots are always fun because you get to learn different techniques
and looks for yourself. I also love the diversity of people that I come
in contact with and the relationships I build within the industry.
How
do you stay beautiful?
The
key to being and staying beautiful is being content and happy on the
inside. I take yoga classes and breaks from training when I need it. I
balance my life so that my relationship, family and work life all flow
harmoniously which allows me to live a low stress life and focus on
positive things.
How
do you stay fit, do you have a personal trainer, chef, work out, what do
you do?
I
prepare all of my food and take it with me wherever I go, I try to keep
training fun and I have really learnt to enjoy eating healthy.
How
do you keep you skin healthy and fresh looking?
Good
nutrition, lots of veggies, efa's, water, no excessive tanning and lots
of lotion. I also get monthly facials.
What do you believe is good health and fitness?
BALANCE. Good health and fitness is not living in the gym and eating
100% all of the time. Health and fitness is about achieving total
balance between your training, eating, family and work. It is no point
looking good if you are not enjoying life.
Do
you prefer to tan or use tanning lotion?
I do a
combination of both. I am not a big fan of frying my skin so I use the
highest quality of bed so it's not as damaging. I make sure to put
lotion on after every shower and before I tan.
