What makes a great
fitness model?
I think having a
positive attitude and a grounded mind set makes a great fitness model. A
great fitness model should be the reflection of some one that people can
look up to or look to for motivation. Anyone can look hot, but having
your mind and heart in the right place to me, sets the standard for
success as well as demonstrating two important characteristics when
being in the eye of the public.
What are the
secrets to become a fitness model?
Hard work,
persistence, and commitment. Like anything in life, if you want it,
then go for it! Like I always say, we are a reflection of our thoughts.
What you think, you become.
What did you do to
become a model?
I just went for
it. I hade to make lifestyle changes in order to achieve what I wanted.
Eating habits as well as exercise habits were two of the many
contributing factors.
What are the
benefits to being a fitness model?
The traveling
would have to be my favorite thing about modeling. I love meeting people
and seeing the world. There is nothing more rewarding then finding out
that I have had a positive influence in some ones life who in this
instance, lives across the country. Through our personal phone calls and
working together through emails, she has lost almost 10 pounds and is
now, eating smarter!
What is your
favorite things about being a fitness model?
My favorite thing
about it is the exposure. Not only can I be “JUST” another attractive
face with a cute little body. Getting in front of people and having the
ability to work with them, share with them, being available, people
start to respect you for what you do, what you know and how hard you
work for what you have… so, for me, yeah… my favorite thing would be
having the opportunity to be VISIBLE.
How do you stay
beautiful?
By being true to
myself.
How do you stay
fit, do you have a personal trainer, chef, work out, what do you do?
I work
out and eat smart. Its all bout playing the calorie game. Cals in vs.
cals out. Don’t complicate it! I train almost everyday through a mixture
of water aerobics, weights and indoor cardio. Im an active person so
kickboxing, martial arts and rollerblading with the dogs are all a means
of getting the job done.
How do you keep
you skin healthy and fresh looking?
I stay out of the
sun!!! and visit my esthetician regularly. I also treat myself to
massages about every two weeks due to the amazing release of toxins the
are held in the muscle and organs.
What do you
believe is good health and fitness?
anything that
promotes an over all well sense of being.
Do you prefer to
tan or use tanning lotion?
I would say
tanning lotion. UV rays from beds are evil! Not that rubbing chemicals
on your skin is any better.
First
Interest In Fitness/Bodybuilding
my first interest was Priscilla Tuft. Seeing all her success motivated
me to go for it.
Goal Within The
modeling/ Fitness Industry:
my goal is to take
the covers of shape, Fitness and Hers. I would like to have my own
bikini calendar as well as feature in Sports Illustrated swim suit
edition calendar. It is also a goal to be featured in fitness
editorials.
Life Goals:
own my own personal gym. Build and design my own house. The designing is
currently in progress. Eventually marry and have children. I would like
to build a dark room, so I can get back in to developing my own film and
prints.
Dreams: my dreams
are to take the fitness and modeling industry by the horns. I want to
make it! I want to call my mother in Maine, tell her ill be home, and
send myself ground mail and look at her from the cover of Shape
magazine, and call her a few days later to ask her if I had made it home
yet?
What is your
Pre-contest Diet:
it can vary, but
mostly protein and veggies. Little to no water and most importantly,
relaxation!!!
Breakfast: oats,
multi vit. Protein
snacks: veggies
and protein
lunch:more
vitamins and protein with veggies
dinner: protein,
and veggies and vitamins if needed.
Supplements you
use
What is your
Regular Diet, same?
Usually. But after
restricting myself for the competition phase, I allow myself a few
treats. Then its back to work
Breakfast: oats
snacks: veggies,
turkey, shake
lunch: Veggies,
carb, protein
dinner: shake,
veggeis, egg whites
Contest Work Out
Routine:
train twice a day. Cardio and weights. As I get closer to comp time, I
tend to up the cardio to 1 almost 2 hours a day, with minimal weights.
At that point my body is very deficient.
Off season work
out routine:
train once a day
every day, or every other day. I train weights and cardio.
