East Baldy Trail
Apache Sitgreaves National Forest
In the White Mountains
Overview: Very scenic! The East Baldy Trail follows the east fork of the Little Colorado River through a long meadow complete with beaver dams full of hungry trout. The trail steepens as you near Mt. Thomas, but your eyes are dazzled.

Option: If group has two vehicles, leave one at each TH and do a loop by returning on the West Baldy Trail.
Note: The summit of Mount Baldy is on reservation land and CLOSED to all nontribal members.
Trailhead (TH): From Show Low, take 260 south, past McNary, to SR 273, drive south to the East Baldy TH on the north side of the Little Colorado River.
Length: 14 miles, 5 - 6 hours round-trip.
Rating: Moderate - some tough spots.
Elevation: 9,300 to 11,200.
Camping: Sheep Crossing, Winn or Big Lake area (fee) campgrounds.
Season: May - Oct. Heavily used in summer.
